Abstract: The study of the resistance of glass ionomer cements fillings made on teeth in terms of their marginal closure until apical closure of the tooth in small children are relevant in terms of functional and physiological restoration of tooth morphology and in terms of their resistance for a period of time that equals the period between the moment when the filling was made until those filling should be change without compromising the functionality of the tooth restoration. The research was made by a clinical trial witch regarding the resistance in terms of marginal leakage of the restoration of the tooth with glass ionomer cements. We have made the fillings on both young permanent teeth and temporary teeth in small patients with the age between 6 and 8 years old, and we have followed them in our study at every 6 months for a period of 1 1/2 years. Our behavior regarding the replacement of the glass ionomer cements after a period of two years is mandatory but in the first 2 stages of the study is not binding.
