Abstract text: Objectives: To establish a correlation between the cardiovascular risk factors (sex, age, smoking, HBP, diabetes, dyslipidemia, obesity, stress, sedentariness) and acute myocardial infract with ST segment over-denivelation for young patients. Material and Method: The study analyses 507 patients diagnosed with STEMI between 2007 and 2009 hospitalized at Heart Intensive Care compartment of County Hospital Arad. The study analyses the data about risk factors (sex, age, smoking, HBP, diabetes, dyslipidemia, obesity, stress, sedentariness) on two age groups, one up to 50 years old and the other of more than 50 years old. It was also analyzed the infract location, Killip and Topol classes and associated diseases and treatment. Results: From 507 patients, 71 were up to 50 years old (14%) and from these, 40 were smokers (56%). The other risk factors for those groups were not statistically significant excepting HBP (26.5%) and obesity (9.8%). Instead, for the group over 50 smoking decreases to 20.4% but all the other risk factors increased dramatically. Conclusions: Smoking is the main risk factor of acute myocardial infract with ST segment over-denivelation for young patients. This factor can be influenced by a better sanitary education of this age segment.
