Abstract text: Management of ovarian pathology is still a serious public health problem in Romania and frequent, requiring a well-organized screening program. The ovarian pathology is a very complex one and very hard to classify. It includes a large variety of benign pathology and the malignant pathology. A special attention should be granted for screening programs and early discovery of a malignant pathology as most of this cases were in an advanced stage. This paper intends to present the management of ovarian pathology in Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Arad in 2009. The information was collected from histopathology records. Between 2009/01/01 and 2009/12/30 Clinical Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology 1111 patients were admitted, of whom 374 (33.66%) had ovarian pathology. Of the 374 cases 10 (2.67%) were malignant tumors, 26 (6.95%) benign tumors, 27 (7.21%) of polycystic ovary syndrome and the remaining cases were represented by ovarian cysts, ooforites. From the studies we find that the percentage of cases in urban areas (54.5%) is higher than rural (44.5%). From the data of the study we find out that ovarian pathology has a peak between 20 and 40, representing 72.45% of all cases.
