Abstract: | Knowledge is a marketable product in an efficient and responsible economy and its social and economic impact cannot be disputed. Our study focuses on a specific area of higher education, which is biomedical education in foreign languages, through a retrospective analysis mainly demonstrating its economic impacts. The analysis was carried out at Semmelweis University and the results prove that competitive degree programs and specializations taught in foreign languages are economically beneficial and need to be further promoted and developed. They bear economic value not only on an institutional but on a macroeconomic level as well. |
