Abstract text: The study conducted within the thesis tries to highlight the increased frequency of the dental tartar as a favoring factor associated with the bacterial plaque as a determinant factor in the periodontal disorders etiopathogeny. It underlines at the same time the absence in some cases, of an appropriate and active attitude towards the necessity to eliminate these associated factors which have unfavorable effects on the therapeutic results of periodontal rebalancing. The presentation consists of a study conducted on a number of 42 cases, out of which 28 were selected of mixed genders, with ages between 15 and 72 years, which presented tartar deposits at the level of their natural teeth and on their prothetic restorations. The obtained data were recorded in a study sheet where I presented as elements: type of tartar, localization, oldness, plaque association, the form of periodontal affection, general state and the method of removal. Remarkable are the results obtained and illustrated by tables and graphics, the increased buildup of dental tartar with women and the age group of 30-50 years at the level of natural and restored teeth. It was also observed the more frequent localization of supra and subgingival tartar in the lateral maxillary and frontal mandibular areas, on the fixed restorations correlated with the seniority of the deposits. It must also be underlined the choosing of the scrapping/removal techniques depending on the periodontal affection. Of utmost importance are also the conclusions regarding the curative-prophylactic attitude, screening, control, execution of a complete and correct removal as well as the periodic checkup.
