Abstract text: Tuberculosis or TBC is one of the most frequent pulmonary diseases in Romania, being on the first place in Europe. Unfortunately, in Romania is estimated that 130 new cases appear at every 100,000 citizens every year, an alarming large number comparing with the other EU countries. It is estimated that at the current time there are over 30,000 cases. Tuberculosis is a disease caused by the Mycobacterium tuberculosis specie, more exactly by the Koch bacillus. This can be found in many parts of the body: the urea-genital apparatus, in the nodule system, osteo-articular, meanings, but the most frequent spot in approximately 90% of the infections caused by the Koch bacillus is in the pleura-pulmonary area. The infection is transmitted orally-respiratory, by inhaling microorganisms from the sweat drops of affected person. The tuberculosis occurs with feelings of fatigue, loss of weight, nighttime sweats, persistent cough’s, violent blood expectorations and chest pains, but in most cases is asymptomatic. The persons with tuberculosis must take a curative therapy with one or more antibiotics, anti-tuberculosis for at least 6 months, but unfortunately the afflicted doesn’t respect the scheme and the duration of treatment, and the disease becomes multi-resistant, contagious and most times lethal. In every year there are approximately 3,000,000 deaths worldwide, and in present there are approximately 8,000,000 cases of symptomatic tuberculosis. It is estimated that 1/3 of the Globe population is infected with the Koch bacillus, and about 5-10% progress latently through a form of active disease.
