Abstract text: Syrups are liquid pharmaceutical preparations that have high sugar content that are viscous destined for internal administration. They are clear or of opalescent nature , their smell, taste and color are specific to their components. Preparing them is made by dispersing their active substances or their vegetal extracts in solutions that have a high sugar concentration or in simple syrups bringing them to the provided mass (m/m). Medicinal plants are vegetal species, cultivated or spontaneous, which trough their chemical composition have pharmaceutical proprieties and are used in human and veterinary therapy. They have a major importance in pediatrics because the syrups used for children are made from plants. Generally plant based syrups have an cough controlling, respiratory tracts and anti-inflammatory effect, they restore and revitalize the organism during viral respiratory and/or bacterial infections at children or are utilized for bronchitis and diseases of the respiratory tract and can have expectorant and anti-inflammatory effects.
