Abstract text: The abdominal trauma occurs often in car-crashes and in fighting. In most of cases it is a complex trauma and the abdominal trauma is a part of the polytrauma. In the management of a polytrauma we have to be very good organized, to have the best efficiency to save the patient. We investigate in our study some imagistic investigation in emergency and its role in the diagnosis and the treatment management. In 112 cases between January 2008- March 2010 we investigate the role of conventional radiology, ultrasound, Doppler-ultrasound, Computer–tomography in the treatment management. The results relieved that in over 75% of cases a simple ultrasound investigation have suggested the main diagnosis in a very short time. Computer-tomography increase the suggested diagnosis to over 92% and the minimum role has the conventional radiology with ~21%. The regular ultrasound investigation with complementary Doppler investigation increases the suggested diagnosis in over 83% of cases. The conclusion of our study is that today “the ultrasound investigation can surely replace the stethoscope” and it is a very good investigation in abdominal trauma that gives us in very short time an diagnostically answer that has the role to reduce the differential diagnosis.
