Abstract text: The paper wants to attract attention over a serious issue that confronts our days Romanian society, not only a social problem, but also a medical, legal, cultural, racial and economic problem, the situation of underage young mothers that come to give birth in the County Clinical Hospital of Obstetrics-Gynecology “Dr. Salvator Vuia” Arad. The present study is a retrospective one that follows the data from the birth registries, the surgical protocols and observation papers of the under eighteen years old mother that gave birth in this hospital in 2009. The parameters studied were reported to the total number of births and caesarian sections performed. The high number of underage mothers, 168 births from the total of 3382 births and the numerous problems raised by them, such as: obstetrical high risk because of the age and the physic and emotional immaturity, the social status and the difficulties in insuring a good life for the mother and the child, which can generate a higher incidence of new-born abandon, the school situation and the high rate of school abandon motivated us in elaborating this article.
