The malign tumors of the face and neck are relative frequent and their localization is different. Among the prognostic problems, the surgery of these tumors has to keep in mind the esthetics and the functionality because the face is an area of big importance for the social life. The difficulty of the approach of these tumors is variable; some of them are reaching the limits of the inoperability. The objectives of the surgeon are many, to damage as little as possible the anatomy and the functionality, to respect the surgical principles, and the reconstruction by diverse procedures. The authors present different situations of the surgical approach, keeping in mind the dimensions and the localization of the tumors and try to conclude in practical importance. The final conclusion is that the results are different, being very close related with the moment of the surgical approach, the respect of the surgical and oncological principles and not the less the individual reactivity of each patient. |
