Abstract text: | Photoelasticity is a research-procedure based upon the phenomenon of accidental birefringency which indicates the main directions of tension appearance, submitted to in experimental models with well-defined characteristics, examined in polarized light. In the present study, the models consist of bidimensional pieces of Aradit boards(CIBA-Switzerland) 6mm thick, reproducing on a 1:1 scale a number of 8 conjunct prosthetic reconstitutions ( dental bridges from the lateral mandibular regions) and their dento-parodontal support. The experimental models have been submitted to a 10 KgF stress through a stress-piece applied to the central part of the bridge-body and to the supporting teeth. The examinations have been made at a circular polariscope in white polarized light. The imagines obtained through the polarized light-crossed models during the stress have been recorded on pos. The obtained images allowed a qualitative evaluation of the tensions appeared in the experimental pieces during stress. |
