Abstract text: This article comes to draw attention to serious problems facing today’s Romanian society, a problem both social and medical, the risk of contracting one of the sexually transmitted diseases. In this retrospective study were followed by observation data sheets related to patients diagnosed with STDs, aiming at a series of parameters that lead to highlight the current problem. Currently, 86% of those who acquire a sexually transmitted disease aged 15-25 years. Delays in seeking treatment and lack of access to STD services make adolescents vulnerable to the sequalae of STD’s including cervical cancer, chronic pelvic pain and infertility. Young people are the least willing to seek medical help. Talking openly and comfortably about sex and sexuality is difficult even in intimate relationships. At any age, the risk of contracting an STD is higher for people with multiple sex partners or who had STDs, used drugs and also for people whose partners have had unprotected intercourse with someone else in last three months. Men and women who receive diagnoses of C. trachomatis, N. gonorrhoeae, or T. vaginalis infections should return in three months for rescreening because they are at high risk for new asymptomatic STI. Although single-dose therapy may adequately treat the infection, it often does not adequately treat the patient. Nobody is immune, if we had a sexually transmitted disease in the past, there is no guarantee of not regain it even with serious consequences and, above all putting in the stake of other person’s health or life, that’s the reason we wrote this article.
